RUPERT SANDERSON
Rupert Sanderson trained at Cordwainers College. During his studies a motorbike tour to Italy confirmed his ambitions- to design and make beautiful women’s shoes. Much of the time he was meant to be spending at school, he was actually in Italy designing for Sergio Rossi who subsequently offered him a permanent design position. Flattered, he chose another offer from venerable Bolognese shoe company, Bruno Magli. Rupert Sanderson formed his own company in August 2001. His passion for the craft rather than solely the fashion of shoes means a continuous search for new leathers, treatments, techniques and material. This combined with a love of form and line ensures a surfeit of ideas and surprises every season.
